On October 4, 2014 the Touch a Truck Event Planning Committee hosted the sixth Touch a Truck Event at Niagara College, Glendale Campus.  The Touch a Truck event helps to raise money for children's literacy in Niagara while providing an opportunity for families to spend the day together for a worthy cause.

More than 2,500 children along with their parents, grandparents and other "young-at-heart" adults attended the event, helping to raise over $16,000 for children's literacy in Niagara.

In partnership with the Regional Chair Early Years Niagara Literary Award, proceeds from the event go toward the purchase of award-winning books for places where families and children gather, including Ontario Early Years Centres, regional child care centres, and licensed child care centres in Niagara.

The success of the Touch a Truck event is made possible through the outstanding support of Walker Industries, dozens of community volunteers, and sponsors.
